It's looking like June / July is our Noctilucent Cloud season here although I'd say end of June into July moreso.
June 20th is the first photo record I have of the clouds appearing, the sky has been cloud-bound for days so there has been less chance of any night photography or videos.
If there's a chance of clear skies, I set up a camera in the North facing window and it is set to take one image every twenty seconds, usually for around four hours, then I go to bed :)
Photoshop allows me to then join all the images into a time-lapse video which I then edit to slow it down and sometimes adjust the light so it's visible on screen.
Remember that the camera picks up light differently from our eyes and I have it set to capture two seconds of time per image.
On the night of June 24th, I recorded a session but I'm not convinced there were any noctilucent clouds, however, the cloud patterns along with the colours were beautiful.
June 25th saw my next opportunity for nocti cloud capture.
I do like seeing an "object" in my shots, one of the reasons I do it, especially in the Winter months when it is dark earlier, lots to see going on ;)
P.S. Probably just a satellite
Another random object just left of centre, I often see little coloured dots up there? Do we have bugs that light up?
Watch out for the spider zooming around on the outside of the window ...... I think? ;)
I know I missed a few opportunities but, sometimes others can see these things where we are under cloud, sadly. Can't have everything :)
June 29th, back at it. I check my Met Office weather app most evenings, see what it might forecast and what might happen.
There was a magnificent showing on this night, we had quite a bit of cloud cover but it did allow glimpses now and then. Watch over to the right next to the tree.
It always seems to be as the battery runs out that the clouds really show, need to adjust my start / finish times.
It's a pretty dark one, lot of cloud that night but you should see the noctis appearing through the passing dark clouds and then as the sky brightens, you see them fairly clearly. Different areas of the UK get to see them clearer or not at all, depending on the weather. Don't know why I didn't take any shots from that one.
July 4th saw another display, this time a little clearer
They really do form some wonderful shapes.
